The Egg Quality Assurance™ (EQA®)

​All egg farmers in Prince Edward Island participate in EQA® program. The program verifies that their eggs are produced in accordance with strict national standards, including the Animal Care Program and the Start Clean–Stay Clean® on-farm food safety program. Trained inspectors and third-party auditors inspect each farm to verify compliance with the program, ensuring standards are consistently applied. 

The EQA® program applies to eggs of all types, colours and sizes produced on regulated egg farms, and the program’s identifying certification mark is voluntarily displayed on egg cartons and restaurant menus across the country.
